Raven-Symone’s Dad “Sometimes She Says Some Dumb Sh*t”

Raven-Symone’ co-host of the ABC daytime talk show the view found herself in the center of yet another public relations firestorm after a segment on the show where she openly admitted to being “discriminatory” against “ghetto” names. During the segment, Raven is quoted as saying “I am very discriminatory… I’m not about to hire you, if your name is Watermelonandra, it’s just not going to happen!” Since those comments on the show went viral, Raven-Symone’s father, Christopher Pearman, has gone to facebook to not only express his love for his daughter, but making it plain that even though she’s an adult and he’d done his best, sometimes she “…Says some dumb shit.”

To My Dear Friends,

There has been much talk today about my daughters comments on her show The View. People have been hitting me up all night questioning me about her remarks. Let me say this……I haven’t managed Ravens career in over 10 years. This woman is grown, has her own management team, has her own opinions, right or wrong, and is responsible for her own words and actions. A woman wrote to me tonight and said she couldn’t support my book because of the words of my daughter. What she fails to realize is that my book is about teaching your child to believe and achieve. Raven has achieved incredible success, and this cannot be denied!

Children grow up and become influenced by many things, situations and people. I certainly don’t agree with what she said….but she is damn near thirty years old. She’s a grown ass woman making grown ass mistakes. We all have been guilty of this.

I did my best as her father, mentor and career manager. I believe I did a Wonderful job. Aside from this inexcusable gaffe, her 29 years in the entertainment industry has been quite successful, for there have been only an Elite Few Child Stars to last this long and have little to no controversy. For this, I am Very Proud!

Raven is a really Beautiful, Sweethearted, Human Being. I should know. Her Mother and I Love her Very much and will always support her and have her back. Even if sometimes……….she says some dumb S#%T!

The city of Detroit and its fire department is now facing a lawsuit after an emergency medical technician allegedly refused to go to a home where an 8-month-old baby had stopped breathing.

Local 4 obtained a copy of the lawsuit Tuesday, which was filed by the Fieger law firm on behalf of I’Nayah Wright-Trussell’s family. It asks for at least $1 million.

I’Nayah, who was on an oxygen machine due to complications from a premature birth, stopped breathing May 30 at her home on Glastonbury Road. When the family’s 911 call went out, EMT Ann Marie Thomas was told by her supervisor to respond to the scene, according to records. But Thomas parked her rapid response vehicle a street away and refused to go into the house until police and an ambulance arrived.

Connecticut Teen Modifies Drone To Shoot Firearm Remotely

In yet another example of technology not waiting for the laws to catch up, a Connecticut teen has outfitted his personal drone to shoot a handgun remotely. As a handgun enthusiast, not going to lie, I think this is kinda cool on a video gameish sort of level. But in here in the real world, this poses so many problems, especially in the realm of public safety. Currently this kind of thing isn’t against any laws, but it may come under scrutiny of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as to whether or not it complies with safety guidelines for aircraft.

Two Legally Armed Detroit Women Fight Off Crime Within 24 Hours

Home invaders found themselves on the business end of a firearm after breaking into a home on Detroit’s East Side. It all happened around 3 AM on Whitehill street. The homeowner, who goes by the name “Ms. Dee” says she was home in her bedroom, when the initial intruder broke through her bedroom window. She then reached for her gun and began firing as more men attempted to get inside. Ms. Dee also suffered a gun shot wound to her leg during the firefight. There have been no arrest made and Ms. Dee is now home recovering.

In another story, a Detroit woman was able to fight off an attempted Carjacking on Detroit’s West Side. Tamika McNeil was approached by a 16 year old suspect when McNeil produced her weapon and shot the suspect. Police initially couldn’t find him until he showed up at an emergency room seeking treatment for his gunshot wounds. Both of the women involved are licensed to carry a concealed pistol by the State of Michigan.

Major iPhone 6S Leak Reveals New Features

In a bit of Apple news, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, a well known industry insider has confirmed news of some of the purported new features of the upcoming iPhone 6S, and iPhone 6S Plus. Some may excite Apple fans, and others may leave them somewhat disappointed.

– A new A9 Processor capable of 25% more power than the previous A8 chip. This processor will be built by Samsung.
– There will be a bigger camera sensor in the new iPhones. 12MP cameras will now replace the 8MP sensor that is in the current model iPhone
– Double RAM, up to 2 GBs of RAM where the current models only have 1 GB.
– A stronger aluminum chassis, for increased rigidity. (And maybe an end to “Bendgate”)
– Force Touch Input which was a feature introduced with the new Apple Watch, and the Macbook Pro, will find it’s way onto the new iPhones.

As with all leaks, one can never be too sure. But Ming-Chi Kuo has had a good track record of having good information on these matters.

Android “M” Developer Preview Announced At 2015 Google I/O Conference

2015 Google I/O has come and gone, and with it a host of new announcements for the Android platform, along with a revamped version of the Google Photos app for both Android and iOS devices.

Some of the newly touted features of the coming version of Android are:
– Greater Control Over App Permissions
In Android M, you will now be able to go into each individual app setting and disable some of the permissions uses on your phone. (Think Facebook Messenger) From now on, if you aren’t comfortable with an app requesting access to your contacts, or you location, or the camera, or microphone, you can now deny that ability. But be warned that doing that could hinder the ability of the app to perform as it would normally.

– Fingerprint Support
Fingerprint scanning as a security measure on smartphones have been available on select Android phones for quite some time, 2011’s Motorola Atrix comes to mind. Further down the line Samsung included the feature in it’s Galaxy S line of phones. The 2014 Google flagship phone, the Nexus 6 was originally slated to have a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone as well, until Apple bought the manufacturer responsible for building the scanners and included them in their iPhone line of phones. Well now in Android M, Fingerprint scanning support will become native to the operating system. This in turn will give incentive for many of Android’s OEM partners to begin incorporating this technology in their new flagship models. Some as early as this year. (Nexus 2015 Maybe) The fingerprint scanners will allow its users to unlock the device, as well as authenticate it’s user when making purchases in the Google Play Store, as well as when using the next new feature.

– Android Pay
Android Pay is Google’s next attempt at mobile payments. Google Wallet, which has been available on Android since 2011 will be going away in favor of this new service. Named in the same vein as Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay, Android Pay is designed to be more secure, easier to use, and available in more retail establishments, as more than 700,000 retailers will be able to take care of your transactions using this new service.

– Better Battery Life
We’ve become ever more dependent on our mobile devices to get us through the day. And the last thing you want to do is to be tied to a charger because the battery on your phone just can’t keep up with you. Google is attempting to address this issue on a system level with “Doze”. By improving the efficiency of your phone during standby times, in theory, you should have more battery available to use when you really need it. “Doze” uses your phone’s motion detectors to determine if the phone has not used and shuts down background processes. Google claims that “Doze” will allow your phone to last twice as long as it does now on devices that are not yet equipped with Android M Developer Preview. The rest of us will be able to put it to the test upon the release of the next Nexus phones. (Or you can test it right now on your rooted Nexus Devices!)

– Google Photos
One of the other major announcements made at this past Google I/O was the release of the new Google Photos app, which is available now on both Android and iOS devices. Google photos, which was at one time tied to the Google+ social network, has now been separated from G+ and is now a standalone service that provides it’s users with unlimited storage of all their photos of 16MP resolution or smaller, and 1080p videos. The new Google Photos is also capable of automatically categorizing photos based on the people in them, the places where those photos were taken, and things that are present in the photos. And the more you use it, the more accurate it gets!
