It’s THURSDAY! And in the spirit of #ThrowbackThursday I’ve decided to go back into the archives and re-release an older episode that I think might be relevant to today, and also, to show how far along The Spann Report as a podcast, and Mr. Spann as a host has come. This episode is exactly 5 years old today.

In Episode 11 of #TSRP Mr. Spann embraces his inner nerd, talks about the push to make feature film “The Help” into a Hollywood blockbuster and about the state of quality Hip Hop in Detroit. And later in the show Spann addresses the Poverty Bus Tour spearheaded by Tavis Smiley and Dr. Cornel West, the riots over in the UK, and Mr. Spann makes a trip back home to Chicago that was epic for reasons you might not expect.

Music Played During Show:

1.) “Celebration” by: Tank featuring Drake (Now Or Never Album)
2.) “Loud Noises” by: Bad Meets Evil featuring Slaughterhouse (Hell – The Sequel Album)
3.) “Love Through Her” by: The Weeknd
4.) “Homecoming” by: Kanye West featuring Chris Martin (Graduation Album)
5.) “Out Of Character” by: Avant (Avant Album)
6.) “No Church In The Wild by: Jay-Z & Kanye West featuring Frank Ocean (Watch The Throne Album)

After a one week break. Mr. Spann returns to the mic to talk about random shit that happened on the job over the course of the week, and podcasting with an old college pal. Big Kev, from the 90/10 Rule Podcast joins us to today. Cardi B and Peter Gunz of Love & Hip Hop New York get into a back and forth over what defines a hoe, who’s right? Bernie Sanders wins both the Idaho, and Utah Caucuses during the last Super Tuesday primaries. Does he have a legitimate shot at the Democratic nomination or is it time to hang it up? And why isn’t Bernie connecting more with African American voters? We will also follow up on the latest happenings with comedian Katt Williams and the fallout from the video of him fighting a minor. We’ve got a new entry into the AssHat of The Week Hall of Fame, and a new Champ of The Week. This week on The Spann Report!
