Back yet again for another episode of #TSRP and we kick off today’s show with a few of Spann’s Random Thoughts before we get to some Listener Feedback! It’s been a minute, so we can’t wait to get into that. Then we get to the meat and potatoes of the show, hopping right In The News, where President Joe Biden has just signed into law the $1.9 Trillion Covid Relief package. So those stimmys are on the way. The Centers For Disease Control is now advising that people who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can now gather without mask. A COVID-19 pill that has seen promising results in preliminary testing is being touted as possibly the “Holy Grail” in treating the disease by Dr. Marc Siegal, a Fox News contributor. And a judge has essentially thrown out the shooting case against Kenneth Walker, the boyfriend of Breonna Taylor. The woman who was shot by Louisville Police in a botched raid on the wrong home.
Then it’s time for Blue Blazes, where Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, did a tell all interview with Oprah Winfrey, and leveled some pretty salacious accusations against the British Monarchy. But are we really all that surprised by what we heard? Speaking of the Royals, one of the Royal Family’s most ardent defenders, Piers Morgan, stormed off the set of his own show, and quit thereafter saying that the reason he’s doing so is because he’s standing up for free speech? And back here in the States, an Uber driver was assaulted by three women passengers after he asked that they wear a mask while in the vehicle. One of those women later went to social media to explain herself and shouted out her preference for rival ride sharing company Lyft. Lyft soon responded.
And then we come to Proud To Be American, where the city of Minneapolis has come to a financial settlement with the family of George Floyd to the tune of $27 Million. A Mexican restaurant in Texas has come under fire for trying to do the right thing. After the Texas Governor decided to lift the statewide mask mandate, this restaurant continued to enforce it in their establishment. Only to have customers threaten the staff with calls to ICE because of the policy. And one of the more prominent Capitol rioters, Jenny Cudd, is again making news, this time for requesting a change of venue for her Insurrection trial to west Texas, because she believes the DC area is too anti-Trump, and too politically correct to give her a fair trial. This is the same woman who requested, and was granted permission to go to Mexico for a bonding trip with employees while facing charges for her part in charging the Capitol.
And as always, we wrap everything up with our Champ of The Week announcements! Y’all know what it is, so let’s get to it, with the Real Talk, ALL THE TIME, right here on The Spann Report!
