Yooooo! It’s the 8th Anniversary of The Spann Report! On January 8th of 2011, the very first episode of #TSRP was uploaded into Podomatic, and ya man Spann dipped his feet into these podcasting waters, and hasn’t looked back! So it would be apropos if we do a little reflecting on how far we’ve come along the way. From Spann starting the podcast with a laptop and a headset, and a teleprompter program, and audacity crashing on him all the time. To doing weekly live shows with no script, speaking to the issues of the day, and expanding on that, and producing more shows on to complement The Spann Report, and hopefully grow even more. After we get the warm and fuzzies out of the way, it’s time to get back to the business of what we do. And we hop In The News, as the partial government continues, government employees are working without being paid. And TSA screeners are calling in sick to work because of it. Ellen DeGeneres is catching heat for supporting Kevin Hart, and lobbying to get him to host the Oscars. Michigan Representative, Rashida Tlaib is under fire for referring to Donald Trump as a MFer. And an assaulted McDonald’s worker finally speaks out about the fight that she had with a customer over a straw that went viral. Then we’re off to Blue Blazes, as it seems that Madonna may have been a bit unhappy with her backside, but were injections really the answer? People are really trying to make re-usable toilet paper a thing. Yes REALLY. Kevin Spacey is in court to face charges that he groped a teenage bus boy, and did Erica Mena, and Safaree Samuels secretly get married already? And Birdman, and Toni Braxton called it quits on their engagement. We should all be able to breath again now that that craziness is over. Then it’s time for Proud To Be An American, where we find one of those folks we hoped we left behind in 2018, a Black Republican getting on national TV to suggest that those on public assistance aren’t looking for jobs anymore, they’re looking for porn. And a Manhattan judge has just ruled that it’s perfectly legal to throw Trump supporters out of bars. But is this the right thing to do? And of course, we wrap up the show with our AssHat & Champ of The Week announcements. Soo much to get into and cover, and that’s exactly what we’ll be doing on episode 234 of The Spann Report!
