Mr. Spann

(Episode 225) #TSRP “He Had Me At Larry Hoover”

On episode 225 of #TSRP we kick off the show with some listener feedback, and then we head right In The News, as a grisly discovery was made in a Detroit area funeral home. And a verdict was made in the case of Jeffery Ziegler, the Rochester Hills man who fired his rifle at a young black boy who knocked on his door asking for directions. And a Federal judge has thrown out a defamation lawsuit by Stormy Daniels against Donald Trump. We move on really quickly to Sexy Time, as a woman has taken a whole new meaning to merging sex and food, like LITERALLY. Then it’s off to Blue Blazes where a South Carolina man shoots his cousin over eating his potato chips. A man is run over by a lawnmower while he attempts to kill his son with a chainsaw. Yes, you read that right. And Bill Cosby just might have had Cheaper To Keep Her playing in his head when it’s found out that Camille Cosby drained one of his “secret” accounts to cover expenses at home. And in Proud to Be An American, a white woman calls the police on a black man babysitting two white children. An Arkansas sheriff forces inmates to wear Nike T-Shirts to “mock” Colin Kaepernick. And a St. Louis woman blocks a black man from entering his apartment. We’ve got all of that and of course, our AssHat & Champ of The Week. So kick it with you boy Spann tonight right here on The Spann Report!

The movie tells an age old story about a popular male star stumbling upon a great female talent, and bringing her talents to the forefront, and how that male star deals with her ascendancy into the spotlight. We also review the suspense/thriller film Bad Times At The El Royale, starring Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Erivo, and Jon Hamm. Listen in as Mr. And Mrs Spann give their thoughts on the film that YOU GUYS voted for them to see!

(Ep. 23) #BNCPod “Mayhem In Minnesota”

The #BNCPod boys are back with episode 23, and we’re hopping right back into the drama of the Minnesota Timberwolves as Jimmy Butler reportedly came at the necks of Andrew Wiggins, Karl Anthony-Towns, and Head Coach and GM Tom Thibideau after a trade that would have sent him to the Miami Heat fell through. It’s obvious that Jimmy wants out of Minnesota, but is he overestimating his value? We’ll talk about that and the reactions that are coming from across the league about this situation from the likes of Paul George, and former Timberwolf, Kevin Garnett. And later in the show, the San Francisco 49ers are finding themselves apologizing after neglecting to include Colin Kaepernick in a photo gallery filled with highlights against the Green Bay Packers. Was this apology even needed, or was this really just a way to get in front of the bullshit before people got on them about it. And of course, all three guys got something to Wing It on. So lets get right to it, with Beer, Chicken, and sports talk tonight on The Beer N’ Chicken Podcast!

And then we get right In The News, as Jason Van Dyke, the Chicago Police officer who gunned down LaQuan McDonald 16 times was found guilty of 2nd degree murder. Can we expect to see more of this going forward? Detroit Public Schools students protested dangerous water conditions in their schools by not showing up to school on Count Day to bring greater attention to that situation. Then it’s off to Blue Blazes as word gets out of the prison walls that Bill Cosby was slapped in the face with a chicken patty for telling a joke… Or was he??? A donut shop in Detroit, with a VERY familiar name, is caught up in an illegal marijuana distribution operation. Will Walmart follow suit? And as that announcement was happening, fast food workers in Detroit were staging walkouts in their fight for a $15 minimum wage and unionization rights. We’ll discuss how effective this movement has been so far. And Brett Kavanaugh has found himself a cadre of women willing to cut their nose to spite their faces and support his nomination to the supreme court, which will lead us right into Blue Blazes! As a Trump supporter with daughters in tow goes on national TV to say that girls being groped by young boys is not a big deal. J Cole admits to not voting in the 2016 election, Remy Ma gives a silly ass defense of Bill Cosby and Kanye West went on SNL and gave another pro Trump diatribe, and yes that shit was horrible. And then we’re off to Proud To Be An American, as Donald Trump suggest that it should be illegal to protest. A Texas school girl refused to stand for the pledge of allegiance, and the Texas Attorney General is backing the school who reprimanded her, and a white social studies teacher whom was fired because of a racist slavery lesson she gave to her students is now suing claiming “reverse racism.” All of that and of course we have our AssHat & Champ of The Week announcements. (Ep. 3) #BWPod “Just All Bad”

Alright family, we’re on to episode 3 of the #BWPod and this week, we’re going to be reviewing two movies that we saw over the weekend. The first movie is the new comedy film Night School, starring Kevin Hart, and Tiffany Haddish. We saw this on a Friday night in a theater that should only be reserved for blockbuster epic films like Avengers: Infinity War, and Star Wars. This movie had no business on an IMAX or IMAX adjacent screen, but alas. We saw it, and we’re going to give our thoughts on it. The second movie we’ll be reviewing, we watched from the comfort of our Living Room. This movie was released on Netflix, and it’s called Til Death Do Us Part. This movie featured the thespian talent of Taye Diggs, Malik Yoba, and Annie Ilonzeh. It was also written, and produced, and directed by Chris Stokes, and boy can you tell. Marques Houston also gets screenwriting credits for this film as well. We’ll just say this, we watched these movies so you don’t have to. But hey, we got shit to say, so listen along as we tell y’all about our trauma watching these two horrendous films right here on The BaeWatch Podcast!

It’s time for episode 21 of #BNCPod the strugglecast of podcasting. On today’s show, Spann want’s to talk a little NBA Basketball, as basketball season has slowly crept back up on us. And already we’re getting hit with some news that players aren’t happy where they are. Most notably this week, Jimmy Butler of the Minnesota Timberwolves. So far Jimmy’s name has been linked with the New York Knicks, The LA Clippers, and the Miami Heat, but where exactly do the guys think he will ultimately end up, and which team would be a better fit for a man of Jimmy’s talents. And the homeboy Walt wants to get into the NFL, more specifically, the NFL’s enforcement of it’s “Roughing The Passer” penalties so far this year. Are they being too heavy handed in it’s enforcement, or is it high time the players start making the adjustments in an effort to make the game safer? And Cliff want’s to talk about Wayde Sims, the 20 year old Junior Forward for LSU’s basketball team was killed in an off campus confrontation.
