The Beer N’ Chicken Podcast

(Ep. 37) #BNCPod “My Homie Mahomes!”

On episode 37 of #BNCPod The fellas are getting things kicked off early because of the Super Bowl, so you guys get an early morning show before the festivities begin. We start of the show with Walt, who wants to talk about NBA All-Star game selections, namely those who got snubbed, and one man in particular, Rudy Gobert, was brought to tears about being left off of the All Star roster this year. The reigning Defensive Player of The Year is left off of the All Star team, should there be a change in how All Stars are selected in the NBA All Star Game? Then we’re off to football, or should we say, football officiating as Cliff wants to talk about the importance of the officials in this year’s Super Bowl, and why pass rushers should be worried about them in the game. And then Spann want’s to talk about the NFL Award Winners this year, from MVP, to Rookie of The Year, did these awards go to the right players, and if not, who do the guys think should have walked away with the coveted individual hardware this year? And you know the fellas will Wing It this morning. So get yourself a grilled chicken omelet, and throw down a breakfast stout, and kick it with your boys right here on The Beer N’ Chicken Podcast!

(Ep. 36) #BNCPod “It’s A New Day”

On episode 36 of #BNCPod we’re live in the new home for live shows for the TSRP Network, Facebook! Join the fellas tonight as we catch up with each other from the past week, and then we get right back to the sports hot takes tom foolery. First we will see if anyone was able to pull off The Beer N’ Chicken Super Bowl Pick Em Challenge win. Could there be one? We then let Cliff kick things off with his continued hatred of James Harden. Apparently James Harden doesn’t think his travels are travels, and Cliff is PISSED! Spann keeps things in the NBA as grumblings are coming out of the LA Lakers organization, that LeBron James isn’t happy with the job that Luke Walton is doing as head coach. Will Luke Walton be gone by the All-Star break, and who do the fellas think is the person that’s next in line to replace him? And finally, Walt takes us to the NFL as news has now come out that the NFL is now considering making Pass Interference calls reviewable after the New Orleans Saints were robbed of a pivotal call in the NFC Championship game against the LA Rams. And of course, the fellas will be Winging It tonight. So pull out a nice cold Lowenbrau, and a grilled chicken pita sammich and kick it with your boys tonight on The Beer N’ Chicken Podcast!

(Ep. 35) #BNCPod “Gs Up College Down?”

On episode 35 of #BNCPod the fellas are back with more of the sports hot take tom foolery. After catching up with each other from the happenings of the week, we update our Beer N’ Chicken Super Bowl Pick Em brackets, and see if Cliff can be caught after going 4-0 during the first round of picks. We then hop right into it, as Cliff brings us the story of Isaiah Marshall, the 7th grade Quarterback from Southfield Michigan was just offered a scholarship from coach Jim Harbaugh and the University of Michigan. Is the kid really that good? And how early is too early for college coaches to be offering these young players scholarships? Then Spann takes us into the basketball arena. Scottie Pippen has just stated that he believes that Zion Williamson should shut himself down for the rest of the year, and get prepared for the NBA Draft. Which begs the question, with all 30 NBA teams now having G-League affiliated teams, has it become time for these players to forgo college altogether, and should the G-League finally step up as the farm system the NCAA has been for the NBA up to this point? And finally we stay in the NBA, as Kyrie Irving has admitted in an interview that he called LeBron James to apologize for how he was as a teammate, and that he really didn’t understand what it truly meant to be a leader of a team. Was this Kyrie Irving growing up, or was this a case of him throwing his Celtics teammates under the bus? We’ll discuss all of that, and of course, your boys will Wing It tonight. We don’t really know if Corona’s go well with Chicken Caesar Salads or not, but try that out and let us know while you listen in on episode 35 of The Beer N’ Chicken Podcast!

(Ep. 34) #BNCPod “The Cliff School Of Sports Economics”

On episode 34 of #BNCPod the boys are back with their sports shenanigans. We start of the show re-capping how our Super Bowl Pick Em brackets are looking after the Divisional Rounds of the NFL Playoffs come to a conclusion. We then get right into it as Spann wants to talk about the state of the Philadelphia 76ers. The Jimmy Butler trade is definitely having an effect on this team, but not the effect that Spann originally had where he thought it might have made them a favorite championship caliber team coming out of the Eastern Conference. Why is Jimmy like this? Walt keeps it NBA as we talk about Nick Young kicking a man for taking his picture. How far is too far for professional athletes to protect their image, and privacy? And later in the show, Floyd Mayweather, fresh from a farce of a fight with Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa decided that it would be a great idea to show off his very expensive watch collection, which brings us to Cliff’s School Of Sports Economics, as we discuss the relationship with extreme wealth, sports, and ignorance with finance. All of that, and of course, ya boys will Wing It tonight. So grab yourself a Chicken Shawarma and wash it down with cold Modelo, and kick it with your boys right here on The Beer N’ Chicken Podcast!

(Ep. 33) #BNCPod “About James Harden…”

The #BNCPod boys are back for the 2019 year ready to get right back to the ratchet sports talk banter you’ve come to know and love. We start this year off talking football. We give our predictions on how the NFL Playoffs will play out. Then we get to talking about The College Football Playoffs. Most of this college football’s bowl season is done, and we’re about to witness yet another Alabama Vs. Clemson National Championship game. Spann brings it up to the fellas that he believes the CFP should be expanded to at at least 6 teams, or at most 8 teams, to better judge who is the National Champion. We’ll see how that conversation plays out. Sticking with football, Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers has been making headlines over the course of the last week after he was benched by Mike Tomlin for not showing up for a team walkthrough the day before the game. Brown has said he want’s to be traded. But are these antics worth the trade to whatever team he may end up going to? Walt want’s to talk about it, so we’ll discuss. And finally, James Harden, has been on a tear these last few weeks, averaging close to 40 PPG in the last 10 games. Talk on ESPN has been speculating on whether or not Harden not only is the greatest offensive player in the game today, but some have been going so far as to say James Harden is the greatest offensive player of all time. Like for real, people are having this discussion. And we’re going to have it too, as Cliff brings right to the show. And of course, the fellas will be mouthing off uninterrupted during our Winging It segment. So sit back with your Chicken Parmesan, and a cold bottle of Peroni and chill with your boys right here on The Beer N’ Chicken Podacast!

(Ep. 31) #BNCPod “Bullsh*t”

The #BNCPod boys are back with episode 31 of the show. We kick things off catching up with each other after a week of doing the work and family things, and then we get right into the show. Walt gets things kicked off with talk of Carmelo Anthony, as LeBron states that he would love to have Melo join him on the Lakers. Lakers brass are mum on bringing Melo into the fold, but is this a good fit for that team? We’ll discuss. Cliff brings us the story of Brandon Browner, a former NFL player who was just sentenced to 8 years in prison for attempted murder for trying to kill an ex- girlfriend. Another unfortunate story of an NFL player involved in domestic violence. And Spann brings us back to the basketball, as the Chicago Bulls have fired their head coach, Fred Hoiberg after 3 1/2 seasons. Although the Bulls have said that Jim Boylan will be their coach going forward, who do the fellas think would actually be a good fit for that team to get back at least to the Tim Thibideau days of consistent playoff appearances, and legitimate championship contention? We’ll discuss all of this and of course, we’ll “Wing It” to close the show. So pull up your collard green and sweet potato stuffed Chicken and MGD, and kick it with your boys right here on The Beer N’ Chicken Podcast!
