Kyrie Irving

(Ep. 35) #BNCPod “Gs Up College Down?”

On episode 35 of #BNCPod the fellas are back with more of the sports hot take tom foolery. After catching up with each other from the happenings of the week, we update our Beer N’ Chicken Super Bowl Pick Em brackets, and see if Cliff can be caught after going 4-0 during the first round of picks. We then hop right into it, as Cliff brings us the story of Isaiah Marshall, the 7th grade Quarterback from Southfield Michigan was just offered a scholarship from coach Jim Harbaugh and the University of Michigan. Is the kid really that good? And how early is too early for college coaches to be offering these young players scholarships? Then Spann takes us into the basketball arena. Scottie Pippen has just stated that he believes that Zion Williamson should shut himself down for the rest of the year, and get prepared for the NBA Draft. Which begs the question, with all 30 NBA teams now having G-League affiliated teams, has it become time for these players to forgo college altogether, and should the G-League finally step up as the farm system the NCAA has been for the NBA up to this point? And finally we stay in the NBA, as Kyrie Irving has admitted in an interview that he called LeBron James to apologize for how he was as a teammate, and that he really didn’t understand what it truly meant to be a leader of a team. Was this Kyrie Irving growing up, or was this a case of him throwing his Celtics teammates under the bus? We’ll discuss all of that, and of course, your boys will Wing It tonight. We don’t really know if Corona’s go well with Chicken Caesar Salads or not, but try that out and let us know while you listen in on episode 35 of The Beer N’ Chicken Podcast!

(Ep. 13) #BNCPod “Sometimes Players Fuck Up”

Back on the Mic from a Mother’s Day break, and the homie Cliff just had a birthday. We’ll ask his old ass what it feels like to be 38 before the rest of us and reflect on the week that was. But then we get right back to it, as we talk NBA Basketball. Spann is going to poke the bears by asking Cliff and Walt what their feelings are concerning the Toronto Raptors firing Dwayne Casey as their coach. Was this just another example of a Black Head Coach shown the door too soon, or were his teams coming up short when it mattered the most. Walt openly wonders if the Boston Celtics should trade Kyrie Irving… You turned into a Minion too with that one didn’t you? Cliff doesn’t believe that James Harden should be the league’s MVP this season. We’ll debate on whether or not he’s got a point. And of course, we’re going to all acknowledge just how wrong we’ve prognosticated these damn NBA Playoffs right before we Wing It! So grab a brew, and a wing, and chill out with your boys on Episode 13 of The Beer N’ Chicken Podcast!

(Episode 3) #BNCPod “Who Got Picked Last???”

The fellas are back for episode 3 of #BNCPod and we are getting right back in the thick of the hot takes with the 2018 NBA All-Star game. The way the teams are picked have been tweaked this season, and taken it back to the playground, as the two top vote getters in both conferences were named team captains, and allowed to pick from a group of players that were selected for the All-Star team this year. The old format of East Vs. West has been done away with and this year we have Team LeBron Vs. Team Steph Curry. Who do the guys think has the better squad? Who do they think was the last pick? And is this something that you could see being a permanent fixture going forward for NBA All Star Games? The fellas get into all of that tonight. Additionally, the XFL has been announced to be making a return in the year 2020. And the league’s owner, Vince McMahon has made some pretty provocative proclamations about how the league will be run. Has he already alienated a segment of the fan base before the league ever plays a game? We’ve got all of that and much more tonight on The Beer N’ Chicken Podcast!

(Episode 173) “Equivocating Like A Motherfucker”

On Episode 173 of #TSRP we get straight into the news, as Donald Chump decides to forbid transgender people from being able to serve in the military, and reasons that the medical necessities for them would be a burden on the armed forces. Crooked officers in Baltimore have caused 34 pending criminal cases to be thrown out, after video surfaced of a police officer planting drugs in a crime scene. R. Kelly has retained new counsel, and it’s a name that should be familiar to anybody who followed the Bill Cosby fiasco last year. Monique Pressley has decided to don a cape for the Pied Pedophile of R&B. Tiny houses were kinda becoming a thing with the help of HGTV pushing these mobile closets onto the masses. But are the people who bought these things having second thoughts? Stupidity is spreading as a teacher can’t convince their students that the earth is round because they believe more in Kyrie Irving, and a Houston Texan Defensive Tackle believes that the dinosaurs were completely made up. And later in the show, we’ll talk about why the equivocating of black stars committing heinous acts to white stars is stupid, and how it undermines our calls for equality, and further marginalizes their victims. We’ve got a new AssHat & Champ of The Week, and listener feedback to get to as well. Whole lotta show coming right here, and right now on The Spann Report!
