(Ep. 7) #BWPod “The Last Dragon of Widows”

Mr. and Mrs. Spann are back with episode 7 of #BWPod and we’re reviewing 2 movies, 1 old, and 1 new on tonight’s episode. We start the show with the oldie but goodie, The Last Dragon. The hood, and cult classic film starring Taimak, Vanity, and Julius Carry. This was actually the first time that Mrs. Spann had seen this movie, and Mr. Spann of course saw this as a kid, so it’ll be interesting to see how differently they see this movie given the time since it was released, and how it’s aged over the years, and how much of the rave around this film is simply from a nostalgic place. We then transition to another movie that we saw over the weekend, and that’s Widows. This movie stars Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, and Brian Tyree Henry, a story about a set of women who are the wives of a gang of thieves. The thieves all lose their lives after a job goes bad, and the local gangster, who is also running for city council, that they stole the money from, is now coming after the wives to get his money back. Can the women pull off a heist of their own to save their own lives? We’ll find out that, and tell you guys how much we enjoyed the film. So chill out with us as we discuss these cinematic experiences right here on The BaeWatch Podcast!

(Ep. 3) #BWPod “Just All Bad”

Alright family, we’re on to episode 3 of the #BWPod and this week, we’re going to be reviewing two movies that we saw over the weekend. The first movie is the new comedy film Night School, starring Kevin Hart, and Tiffany Haddish. We saw this on a Friday night in a theater that should only be reserved for blockbuster epic films like Avengers: Infinity War, and Star Wars. This movie had no business on an IMAX or IMAX adjacent screen, but alas. We saw it, and we’re going to give our thoughts on it. The second movie we’ll be reviewing, we watched from the comfort of our Living Room. This movie was released on Netflix, and it’s called Til Death Do Us Part. This movie featured the thespian talent of Taye Diggs, Malik Yoba, and Annie Ilonzeh. It was also written, and produced, and directed by Chris Stokes, and boy can you tell. Marques Houston also gets screenwriting credits for this film as well. We’ll just say this, we watched these movies so you don’t have to. But hey, we got shit to say, so listen along as we tell y’all about our trauma watching these two horrendous films right here on The BaeWatch Podcast!
